Raindrops

c
k

i
n
g
d
o
w
n
a windowpane.
The mournful tears of
suffering vapor.
Their thunder bellows on
the ears of the world
As their anger flashes
lightning quick
within the sky.
Their lamentations fall on
the deaf ears of society
As a woman lays
dying in an alleyway.
The earth vocalizes this tragedy,
even as her blood
seeps into its soil.
The people continue on,
driven by an instinct to move, do, compete,
win.
Nature mourns the loss of focus
on things that truly matter.
While a logger cuts down another tree...
