*We hate for stupid reasons in this world. Our race, our gender, our life. Well, I'm proud of my race, my gender, and my life. Are you?*
There is always a reason to hate me,
I know this now.
At first it was when I was little,
And admired for my smarts.
And even though I'm still smart,
That's not why I'm hated for.
Not anymore.
Now I have so many more reasons.
Even though I'm friendly and unjudging,
People seem to get so much more crueler.
Why do they have so much hate?
The only thing I hate is how unfair they treat me.
And how they judge so easily either on my looks or past.
First of all.
Most of my old friends now hate me,
Because they are Popular, and I am not.
And I am not popular because I choose not to be.
I just want to be myself and not someone they want me to be.
So if wearing not-that-girly clothes makes me so different from you,
Then why do we both bleed red?
And then there is.
My family is foreign to this land.
And immediately everyone thinks they hopped the border.
But they did not, and I love my parents and my family.
Because they love life so much more truly than this nation.
They don't care about the color of your skin.
They only care for the person you are inside.
And I wonder.
Why is it when I have so many nice friends,
And when I hear a few horrible words slip form their tongues,
I hate them for it?
And those only seem to be from my more Popular friends.
My close friends might be a little UnPopular but they are so understanding.
They're everything I stand for.
And I know.
I will always be hated my whole life.
No matter what I do with it.
I will be hated for being a woman,
For being a skater or a rocker.
For being from a Mexican background.
Or for being smart.
But.
Don't we all bleed red?
Don't we all hurt the same?
Don't we cry when our hearts are broken?
And even though we aren't raised to all think the same,
We can still try and teach our children Love and Acceptance.
We can still teach ourselves to not Hate.
