Reflection

by Wings Of Flames   Jan 6, 2007

I see an image ruffle,
As the ripples part,
The water in my vision,
Stab through my heart,

Is this just a mirror?
A copy of another,
Am I just a girl?
Am I just a lover?

I've been told I'm a copy,
Yet I'm striving to be me,
I cannot be who that is,
If blind is what I see,

Should I change again?
And become a beast,
Or ignore this thought,
Be who I am the least,

Discard this mask of shadow,
Exchange for anew,
I hope it becomes something more,
So I'll never be like you.

I absolutely adore the ending to this poem.
It was so very sad, yet such a pleasure to read.
The imagery was fantastic, and I enjoyed the rhyme scheme very much.
You did a magnificent job on this.
