Please Take A Second Look (to all poetry readers)

Do you ever feel like people walk right by you,
not bothering to take a second glance.
They see that title to that poem, and think
"Ah I ain't got time."
Little do they know how much that poem
means,
and here you sit your heart
screaming,
pleading for someone to take a second look.

I don't write for my own amusement,
just to hear myself type day after day;
so I can get lost in the beauty of life.
Sometimes it's like I write so much,
and no one cares,
they say they love my poetry but rarely
do I see but one comment.
It's like I'm writing to a world,
who refuses to write back.
what is it that I lack?

You work so hard,
but its like you never get very far.
People expect you to succeed;
but how can you when they sit there and
watch the world pass you by.
They're stuck in their own world not giving
anything, to even think of taking a second
look.

I promise I have so much to offer.
I've cried all these tears
and written all these poems;
so the world will know that some
pains are worth living.

So as your eyes scroll down the page
of not a poem, but of my soul
realize this: I'm worth your time,
I'm worth every single dime you got.
Just please take a second look.
