Whiskey & Goodbyes

by nascar911chick   Jan 7, 2007

Surviving on whiskey and goodbye
This angel with broken wings
Flying a mile below the rain Surviving on the poison of whiskey He don't care for love you
It's a pain without love
It's the best medicine I can get
And get to nowhere
Sink to the bottom like a stone
Scared of what the world will find
Never wanted to say goodbye
I guess we never really moved on
To hear your voice to say my name
Hearing those words it makes me weep
Coming from the lips of an angel
Held in the arms of an un-familiar stranger
This strangers touch feels so wrong...
Lonely and long gone
Your memory won't go off and hide
While I lay beside and weep a silent cry
In the arms of the one who's holding me tonight
I wish it was you
As morning rises these 18 wheels move on
This endless highway of hell goes on and on
Clouds move across the blue sky
A prayerful cry
If I could only have his love back
Only god knows why it has to be this way
Surviving on whiskey and goodbyes
Living in regret
As I try to forget
Lending hands to pick up a fallen angel
Does it satisfy finding my best friend the door
As cloudy days have happened before
As I drown and drown
Going down and down
Trying to make my heart believe it
A heart with no soulful lit
A washed up angel doing her time
Until the healing comes...I'm crying out for mercy
Surviving on whiskey and goodbyes
Until this pitiful angel is done doing her time....
Every ounce of my being struggles for meaning
Without him in my life
If you wanna keep an angel
Show mercy
Put down that bottle
Cause some people change
While others
Are cursed to
Survive on whiskey and goodbyes
