Summer

by megan   Jan 7, 2007

Freshly paved streets,
The scent of rain to come floods the air.
The kids get excited for the chance of a thunderstorm
As it begins to rain,
The parents call the kids inside

Just as the last kid gets inside,
Lightning splits the sky.
The kids count,
One-Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi,
BOOM! Thunder rumbles the ground

Kids cheer in excitement
The rain starts coming in torrents,
Pounding down on the ground.
Against their parents wishes,
The kids run outside to play
