Oh hark! The stark of dark!
The light, the blight of midnight's sight,
dreams twist to nightmare's spite!
Alone and shone in fragment stone
of diamond dreams forlorn and shorn of hopeful grins,
now turned to cold to waste again.
Oh dismay! We spent the time away!
From the sunlight plains and brighter days,
and all the things we used to say, now lost,
forever gone I say!
Oh hark! Come out and play! Let's steal the night and seize the day!
Say angel birds to coming grey,
and flaps their wings to fluff the darkened cloudy skies
I keep inside, like the soft touch of starlight, in your eyes.
It lights my path and keeps me feeling fine,
as the bones of the earth swallow my life,
I struggle to find warmth inside my sunken frame,
Oh lame! Oh lame! Now turned to shame!
So gather me near my love, to rip my soul away,
You speak in soothing whispered ways, to take it all apart today,
my heart, my spirit gone. Its rent apart in mocking song.
Oh despair! To pass away this time and leave you here,
alone and chilled and filled with fear!
Oh painful pose! Where to go now when going ends,
with everything you want, no more descends,
it's lost and gone and spent and shamed,
and rent, unkempt, I wept,
