The Four-Letter Lie

by Heon   Jan 8, 2007

Can someone fall out of love so quickly?
Or was it all a four letter lie?
That he didn't mean it when he said it
A mere week before.
What am i supposed to feel?
Shattered? Devastated?
I search my heart and soul
But am yet to find a thing.
I yearn for some emotion.
Some semblance of hurt and sorrow.
But all i see
Is a flutter of trepidation
A breathless whisper of thrill
And reorientation's sweet melancholy.

For never had it rung so hollow,
The toll of the four letter lie.
A constant reminder in itself,
Just a habit to be kicked
A matter of getting used to.
