MAGGIE MAE

by Stephanie   Jan 9, 2007

You had the heart of a fighter with kind and diligent hands.
Your load never lessened and your work never did end.
You kept up with the pace of life and never fell behind.
You never turned a single soul away from your door,
and though you didn't have money you always fed the poor.
You taught young children such sweet hymns.
You taught them of the good word.
Amen.
You didn't always have things that glittered and you taught me sometimes that was best,
and since you had a heart of gold you were much wealthier then then all rest.
You saw your work's creation in so many who remember your legacy.
Your family has flourished, because you nurtured and watered your seeds.
Its not what you said, Its what you did, and thats what really matters, you see.
I told you "Lifes not fair" and to my surprise you told me "My dear, your right. Its not always easy, sometimes life's a struggle and a fight",
and since then I've found this to be true, but I have come to find the beauty you found in the struggle too.
My old friend you won't be forgotten.
You memory remains, in the hearts of many children, both young and old the same.
I know your there when the sun shines on a cloudy day, I know you've told the angels to push the clouds away, So I can see your face in the sky.
Oh how we love you Maggie Mae.
