My friend, I am your enemy

by VioletRaven   Jan 9, 2007

In my absence I may cease to exist
I am unworthy again, this time of you.
I flee to a haven that is not safe
I sleep and trap myself
I cannot speak lest I hurt you once again.

Who am I to be called friend,
When I neglect to exist?

What is your gain
When I bring only troubles?

Where is my loyalty
When I should be at your side?

Why am I unreliable
When I am so dependant?

I am the betrayer.
I am the traitor.
I am your enemy.

Hey, It's been a long time since I've read a poem by you. And now i know why I used to read them so often, over and over again. I remember reading your first few pieces and commenting, and you did the same for me. I just want to thankyou for that, and for this awesome poem that you've written. It seems to create an atmosphere around me as i read it. And the final stanza is chilling to an extent. Great Work
