I cheated on you
I do apologise
I did this terrible thing
And followed it my demise,

I only just got the courage to tell you
It was a long time ago
I did it in the heat of the moment
It was my all time low

I've done it more then once
With more then one guy
They were dear friends of mine
This was a hurtful lie

For they did not know I had you
It was all in harmless fun
It was at her party
So this is what I've done

You will probably hate me
I understand if you do
I know I've hurt you badly
I wish there was something I could do

But I can't
This is what I did
It's not something I'm proud of
I'm not a little kid

I cannot just say sorry and be forgiven
Your healing is going to take time
I will not rush you
I'm not even worth a nickel or a dime

I know this will not help
And will not numb the pain
But I am very sorry
And maybe one day I will kiss you in the rain.
