Time

by David   Jan 10, 2007

Time is the ticking,
or the beat of the heart,
its the painful cry,
and lovers part,

It takes away ones life,
and spends it on a wim,
Cutting at your thoughts,
and hopes until dim,

Time is the knife,
Slicing at your wrist,
Betraying your dreams,
and moments you have missed,

Time is invaluable,
It cannot be replaced,
Time is always moving plainly,
Never hidden away or raced,

The time we get we misuse,
And the time we lose we mourn,
It ages your body and kills you,
from the moment you are born,

Timing may be everything,
And getting it right is the trick,
As the people rush to its tock,
The unawares make me sick

Another poem well done, you are so talented. I think that its true that time tears things apart, but it also brings things together. Keep up the good work. *5/5*

This is an interesting poem. A unique topic i've never read about before, and it's good to see. It is all so true as well. These two lines stood out to me:

"The time we get we misuse,
And the time we lose we mourn."

Such truth in those lines, in all of them actually. Great poem yet again.

I'm angry and sad to see that someone has been downgrading your poems, they are all so good, you don't deserve it. But unfortunately, as you end up learning on this site, some people either don't have a life and/or they are jealous of your poems and have nothing better to do than downvote them. But i'm sorry for that, at least you know by comments that people do like and appreciate them, just as I do.

Thanks for your comment on my poem. =]

Please keep posting your poems, I enjoy reading them. =] 5/5
