Fire in the dawn

by kiara   Jan 11, 2007

The dawn of a new day brings
New birds with flame ridden wings
New scents which burn the senses
And a sight about to burn distant fences
The air stiffens as it foretells the coming pain
Of the beast only ruled by rain
It travels with the wind
Searching the land eyes closed and blind
To all the little lifes it tearlessly ends
It welcomes mens buckets as if they were old friends
and when they try to put the beast to rest
it shouts with rage spitting fireballs to the west
Ablaze are the farmers crops
While his family is begging for a million drops
Of liquid as cold as ice
But it wouldnt matter they have already paid the ultimate price
No more shelter, No more food
And the baby was burned past nude
Trees are left forever black
And their burden is their own plaque
Finally the fire ceases to exist
Because the wind refused to assist
So as the stars come out to play
The wind carries the worlds tears, in hope to save another day
So with a crack of thunder
The sky releases its blunder
Killing the last of the beasts flame
But never ending is its game
The dawn of a new day brings
New birds with tears for wings
