Childrens stories

by mazie   Jan 11, 2007

It's time meet the children
with stories of pain and crime
so sit back and listen
and try to guess which one is mine

meet the little girl on the streets
no one to love her and no were to go
at night under a bus shelter she sleeps
come rain shine or the coldest snow

meet the young boy who gets beaten
by his step dad when he's in a drunken rage
what he would give for the chance to runaway
but he may as well be locked up in a cage

meet the pregnant thirteen year old girl
pregnant by a boy she doesn't even know
no one cares that her cloths are getting bigger
but she cant hide no longer as her belly begins to grow

meet the teenage lad hooked on hard drugs
started with a smoke now he has needles in his arm
he steals to help feed his horrible addiction
and none of his crimes and action raises the alarm

meet the young girl who's abused by her father
he comes into her room at night to rape her
as her mother sleep in the room next door
but when she asks for help shes told it never occurred

meet the little boy left alone for days on end
has to find his own food other wise he'll starve and die
so he rummages through days old rubbish
and at night sits there all alone and cant help but cry

so now you've met these poor children
with their stories of pain and crime
these children need are help and love
but the only thing is will YOU give them the time

I really loved this poem because it shows what children go through everyday. I think that most of your poems should be sent to contests because I know you would win. Get your poems out there.
