I Run For You

by Shades   Jan 11, 2007

Six letters. one word
That can shatter lives
And change your world
Four words, one sentence
It could happen to me
It has happened to you

So I run for you, my friend
And I will run till the end
I run to find hope
For all those who cope
High will I hold
The pink ribbon of life
So they can find a cure for
Your mother, sister, and wife

Their cries for survival
Do not fall on deaf ears
There are those out there
Who choose to hear
They lend their time
And give their hair
To reach and show
That they care

Some can beat it through
Others hear the words of doom
I hope and I pray that
Isn't you, by God's grace
May you be one of the
Lucky ones that can
Beat impending doom
And so, I run for you
