A Letter For My Sorrows

by Emily   Jan 12, 2007

A letter for my sorrows
a grave for my pain
a picture for my face
a number for my name

a whip to whip and shape us
'til we all wind up the same
the concept of alikeness
we're all winners in this game

a prayer to keep us standing
when tomorrow brings us rain
and a scapegoat to satisfy us
when we need someone to blame

so i'll ask you again
in case you never heard
what makes me so different
that you think i deserve

a letter for my sorrows
a grave for my pain
a picture for my face
a number for my name
