Desires of the Run

by Samantha lynn   Jan 12, 2007

I want to dye my hair and change my name
pretending that life will never be the same
they want to find me
they have to catch me first
broken heart and
yearning thrist.
For guitar highway blues
and endless nights
knowing it may start out oh so wrong
but turn out oh so prefectly right.
Writing rambles
across route 66
heading North, flying South,
running wild East and West.
Tomorrow may be coming
without a second thought
a second breath
a second chance
and I- I want to be like the wind
free and without a care.

Hi, my name is penny. I just started out on this website and your poems are so great. i stumbled on our poem Armageddon. That was so amazing. I find the same idea in life. People don't wake up to see what's around them. They don't realize the warnings around them and one day if the world will be destroyed in like world war 3 or someting or some nuclear war, the sad part is that it could prob. have been sen ahead and avoided. anyway, i really love your poem, desires of the run. I was born and raised in a small town in Oregon and I couldn't wait to get out. I decided to go to college in cali. as soon as i could. I can totally relate to your feelings of running away and having parents that were looking for you. hey, so i know we don't know each other, at all really, but if you run away or anything, talk to me. I've run away before and I don't want to regret it, but somehow i do. Maybe i can help u from somehow making a mistake like me. I ran away, got a tatoo, it hurt, got drunk alot, and wind up having to get an abortion. that's really what i regret. so i'm here, as another human being, just to talk to if u ever need.
