The Hollywood star

Alone in an empty house
Theres a girl with a paper and a pen in hand
Shes gonna show them all how
She can get where she wants to be
Nobodys gonna tell her that she cant
They know she thinks they wouldnt understand
Bright lights, huge crowds, theyre all she can see
At night while she dreams

Shes gonna make her mark
On the hollywood star
Youll miss her when shes gone
Cuz youll wish you let her be the one
No one will change her mind
She gotta start planning, shes running outta time
One day youll see her name in lights
And you will be thinking
I wish I could turn back time, and make her mine

Waiting for a break in the throw away
Her parents wont have any say
The boy, she had left behind
Can feel the way, she had felt inside
She knew it would come back to haunt him
But instead of waiting she walked the other way

Shes gonna make her mark
On the hollywood star
Youll miss her when shes gone
Cuz youll wish you let her be the one
No one will change her mind
She gotta start planning, shes running outta time
One day youll see her name in lights
And you will be thinking
I wish I could turn back time, and make her mine

Small town girl, like the others
She always found a way to stand out
Found her own say to survive the horrors
Life had thrown around
Now she laughs at the girl, who had once been a friend
Always bragged about what she had
That friends now alone with no husband
Life finally gave her a clue
Cuz she just cant stay true

Shes gonna make her mark
On the hollywood star
Youll miss her when shes gone
Cuz youll wish you let her be the one
No one will change her mind
She gotta start planning, shes running outta time
One day youll see her name in lights
And you will be thinking
I wish I could turn back time, and make her mine

So if this girl keeps her head up high
She will once be known wide
Doesnt have to be sorry for him
It was his lose, to not want it that way
Someday he ll feel that same pain
In the sky, still so gray
So she walks away cuz she knows
Shes gonna make her mark
On the Hollywood star
