Cruel Intentions.

You're well aware of what you're doing to me.
It was all predetermined from day one.
Building up the trust just to get to the key.
Capturing me and then crushing me like broken glass.

You have me in the palm of your hands.
& you know you have me hooked.
Everyone told me they knew your plans.
But, I was so willing to take that risk.

Everyone said they had you all figured out.
Except me, who acted like a stubborn fool.
They all knew what your intentions were about.
& that it was going to crush my soul.

So here I am, all broken up inside.
Wishing I would have listened to my friends.
Now I have no where to run; no where to hide.
And it was all because of your cruel intentions.

    A very nicely written sad poem. It's amazing how feelings for someone can cloud your judgement when it comes to them.

    I don't know why the rating is so low. The only thing that threw me was the unusual rhyme scheme. but I thought it was really good. And I wanted to say THANK YOU for all your incredibly nice and heartfelt comments! They mean so much to me! It's so nice to know someone takes the time to truly let the poetry sink in and appreciate it. I'm glad you liked my poem Almost Asked You To Lie. Thank you!
