Staring deep
Into their eyes,
What do you see?
His eyes are like
The sun rising over the ocean,
But you can see
The loss reflected in the waters
His brick dam breaks
And water flows through the wall,
Tears falling from his eyes,
Waterfalls that only
Remind him of her.
Her eyes are like
Deep vats of chocolate
Smooth, rich, silk,
But you can have too much
Of a good thing,
This chocolate is no longer sweet,
She is strong,
Holds her emotions in,
But cracks appear
And her vision goes cloudy.
What can one do?
We see it in their eyes,
But can do nothing,
Can say nothing,
We can read it in their emotions,
But can not retell,
So we help them
Rebuild their wall
Or sweeten their chocolate,
All the while,
Wondering,
Will they ever find
Each other?
Will they ever
Clear their gaze
And smile?
