My Guardian Angel

by Drusilla   Jan 13, 2007

As i wipe my eyes,
I see pictures of you,
Happy.. no worries at all, smiling.. at something i said,
Then i see you,
Laying on the ground.. blood all around you, fighting for your life, but nobody will help you,
Guns and dead bodies are scattered all around you,
The thought of me not being there.. and not helping you.. scares me more than you know,
I sit here breathing now,
Although it feels like a silent scream every time i exhale,
Theres a part of me.. who wants to go on living, just for you,
Theres so many doubts of you being alive,
That i begin to cry,
But then theres this one tiny bit of hope,
You promised me you wouldn't die,
You've never lied to me before,
Although im telling you not to go,
I hear your whispers,
But you can't hear my screams,
I need you,
More then i've ever needed anyone before,
You hear these stories,
And hear these songs,
About loved ones going off to war,
But you never listen.. because you think it's to horrible to happen to you,
Then.. out of the blue.. it does..
I still can't believe you're leaving..
Out of all the people i know..
What did i do that was so wrong to lose you?
You're my life support,
You're my angel,
But now your their soldier,
You've joined their fight,
You may become a legend,
You may become a hero,
You may live on to be old and gray,
And tell the story of this war to new family members,
But you might die,
At a young age,
And leave me all alone,
And you will truely become my guardian angel..
