My True Self

by ForeverHis   Jan 13, 2007

I look in the mirror; what's this I see?
Who is this girl I've come to be?
So many imperfections reflected back,
Self-confidence and love I seem to lack.
Hating myself for so long,
How can my image be so wrong?
How can everyone say I'm so small?
That isnâ??t what I see at all.
I see a girl covered in fat,
Why doesn't anyone else see that?
Trying so hard to please the voice in my head,
Crying as pounds I struggle to shed.
Inside so empty, can't stand feeling full,
Will I ever reach my goal?
But how can I reach numbers so low?
Of the fight inside no one can know.
No one could ever understand my ways,
So my true self in secret stays.
