Midnight Black

by ForeverHis   Jan 13, 2007

Eyes burning with tears but not releasing,
Her will to live is slowly decreasing.
Lost is her family, taken by fire,
Left alone, dying inside.
Ashes all around, remnants of all she loved,
And all the time she wonders why she's still here.

Dying of hunger, thirst, and hate,
To save her soul it seems itâ??s to late.
Her name now as dark as her thoughts,
Wandering through life not knowing where to turn.
Everyone stares when she walks by,
They whisper and cower in her presence.

Everyone has grown to fear her,
They arenâ??t welcoming like sheâ??d remembered they were,
They look at her dark eyes and tainted skin,
Frightened turn away from her lost soul.
Thorns in her clothes, black turn her eyes,
With no one left for her to turn to.

CHORUS
A heart barely beating in a dying soul,
Lost in a dark world, hoping for freedom.
Freedom from the past, freedom from herself,
Her skin engraved with ink midnight black
