Smile

by Flying Phoenix   Jan 14, 2007

Rising above life stands her frail body
Framed against the dying sun
Wind whips her few clothes
As she holds her arms out in relief

One look to the west
Where the sun lies down again
Her golden hair alight with its dying rays
She breathes out
Letting go

The warmth slowly leaves her skin
And standing there numb to the world
On the pinnacle of a raged cliff face
Isolated from life
She blows a kiss in the air
And smiles

She smiles a smile
That could warm the cold heart of death
A smile that steals your breath
And reaches out to your heart

Yet with that smile
Of pure unadulterated joy
She says goodbye

And steps forward
