Alone in the Rain [Revised]

Rain feels like ice against my skin,
keeping me attached to reality.
Reminding me that the pain is still there,
waiting to take control of me.

Glass tears slide down my cheek,
only to be washed away in the rain that falls around me.

And as I stand there I think of our love,
how it was forgotten in the passing of time.....
How I was forgotten.....

Like a lead weight
the pain grows heavy on my chest.
Soon it will be too heavy for my heart to hold,
too much for me to take.

I want to let go,
to be free of the pain.
But no matter how hard I try
I can't forget about Him.
About the love He once showed me.

His memory is etched into my heart.
Like a scar.
He will never be forgotten.

And neither will this pain.

    Incredible. Simply incredible. awesome emotion I truely felt like crying... I can relate, perhaps that's why, but it doesn't change the fact that this is a hard hitting emotion-packed poem that every girl can relate to. Fantastic job. 5/5

    Very sad and yet deep. It's filled with emotion and I love the first stanza:
    "Rain feels like ice against my skin,
    keeping me attached to reality.

    waiting to take control of me."
