What Kind of World Are We Living In?

by marilyn marti   Mar 31, 2004

One mother, three kids
The father is gone
She lives life like this
and it's so wrong

No money, no car
hand-me-downs and bread
Living on the streets is hard
Not even a bed.

Sixteen year old
Best friend just died
She's pregnant
and hides it inside

Father hits her
She lives in fear
She's losing grip of life
Does anyone hear??.

Homeless guy on his own
One penny in his hand
His world is so alone
No strength to stand

Eating out of garbage
It's not fair
A little girl gives him a dollar
I guess someone does care?.

People with problems
Bullies giving in
Sometimes I wonder
What kind of world are we living in?
