On the pull

by Kirsty   Jan 15, 2007

Searching for that special one
Can depress you, but it can also be fun,
Out on the town, girls by your side
You're gonna have a good time, so enjoy the ride.

Walking in the room, looking pretty smart,
Always on the look out, for the best work of art,
And then you spot him, up by the bar "I say"
You try to get in quick, but he's too far away,
Another girl has got in there first
Now you're heads fuming and fit to burst.
"Never mind" you say "I'll find another"
But you look round and they all look like your baby brother!!

So off to the floor, to dance and sway
Keeping your eye's out for anyone who's not gay,
The lights are flashing, but the place is dark
Will you find the one to light you're spark?
Someone grabs you and begins to sway his hips
Then the cheeky feck tries to place a smacker on your lips,
You give him a mouthful, you're not desperate or easy
"I'm just trying to find someone fit to please me"
Backing away just as fast as you can
Where oh where is that sexy man?

You look out into the crowd and he is there
Looking really sexy, you can't help but stare.
He's caught you looking so you turn away
You want to talk to him, but don't know what to say?
"Have you been here before?" or something just as lame
How are you supposed to find out if he feels the same?
He's got it all, dark hair, striking looks and intrigue
But it's pointless, i'm way out of his league

So it's back to the floor to try and look again
Is there any sunshine or is it all just rain?
Another one comes up and asks for your name
I'm really not interested, but it feels a shame
So i talk politely, just keeping my eye on art
because he is the one tonight that has stolen my heart

Keep on boppin away, you never know
From nowhere at all, Mr right might show!
Now you're being silly, you're in a dive
Most men there ain't even old enough to drive

You're confidence is slipping, so you start to make a move
What am you doing here? What have you got to prove?
Getting through the crowds you try to push past
You want to get your coat and get out, like fast
There's someone in your way, "Excuse me please"
But when he turns around, all you do is freeze.

Yes it's him and he's right there in front of you
Go on say it..... no don't bother, he hasn't got a clue
He speaks first "Would you like to dance?"
You can't say a thing, your head's in a trance
He makes you blush, he makes you smile
He even makes you weak in the knees a while

For the next few hours, you are as one
Dancing, playing, kissing and having fun
Then along come his mates and he is gone in a flash
Now i guess you feel like a piece of trash?
He didn't get your number, he didn't say "bye"
What a hopelesly pathetic excuse for a guy
So that is it, one night is all you had
It's obvious now that he's really just a lad
It's like that for now, just take what fun you can
Until you can find yourself a real genuine man
