Let go, but still hold on

Why cant I let you go?
I try so hard but it never leaves,
I cant stand this everlasting pain,
Even when Im happy it still breathes

I want to let go,
But my heart wont loosen its hold,
I again have fallen for you,
Though you forever have left me in the cold,

No more can you pick me up,
Never again can you make me smile,
I think I will just stay in my memories,
Just stay here for a little while,

I want to hold on to my hopes,
I never want them to slip away,
But they fall out of my reach,
Falling more everyday,
