As I Lay Me Down To Sleep

by RicaLo   Mar 31, 2004

As I lay me down to sleep
Into my room my father creeps.
He stands over me and takes off his belt
And onto my body he puts deep and bloody welts.

As I lay me down to die,
I bite my lip and try not to cry.
I can't believe he hated me so,
His love for me never showed.

As I awaken from my dream
I realize that my father couldn't be so mean.
I rush to his room in the middle of the night
And say I love you and hug him very tight.
