Sweetest Drug

by Khristie   Jan 16, 2007

You're the sweetest drug that I ever tasted; you're bitter yet stupidly sweet.
You're every live wire that I shouldn't touch; you make music skip a beat.
You're the hardest person to ever love as I can never touch your soul.
This magic that we're making is becoming my enchanted hellhole.
You're everything that you shouldn't be, cool yet strikingly hot.
Passion never looked this good, but I'm left with exactly what?
I'm left with the confusion of knowing, that you'll hit freedoms road.
I'm sitting with the pieces that I quickly walked to unload.
Our shadow that we hid behind has moved onto other things,
And I'm stuck here reading all of your heart hidden meanings.
Lust never appealed this way because I never tried,
I never tried those one thousand times because I thought to lie.
You're the bitterness of everything sweet,
You're the darkness in every sky,
You're the sorrow in natures heart tonight,
But you're the shine in everyones' eyes,
You're the hurt that bellows beneath everything I've done,
You're ageless and timeless but truthfully heartless.
You're the worst religion that I ever followed,
You're the best kept secret that I never bellowed.
I believed that autumn could save us from our mysterious mistakes,
I believed that winter could heal us with her stinging snowflakes.
And I believed that spring could hide us from love once again,
And Summer I just know, can ease my hearts little pain.
