Today I wrote you a letter.
I poured out my heart and soul.
I finally let you see my broken pieces.
Because with you, I was glued together.
The moment you let me go, i shattered.
I told you that in my letter.
I told you I loved you.
And, I know I always will.
I began to cry and my tears fell on top of my words.
The ink became smeared.
But, it was still able to be read.
I wrote my last sentence.
And, I signed my name.
I folded the paper.
And, I placed it carefully in the envelope.
Somewhere between what I said and wrote, was my heart.
In that envelope was just a piece of paper with my love.
Just a broken letter to you.
I sealed the envelope shut.
And, placed the stamp so carefully on the corner.
I wrote your name one final time.
And, so neatly wrote the address beneath.
I may regret this later.
But, I placed the letter in my mailbox with one final cry.
And, the next morning the pieces of my heart were held in your hands.
What you did with them will always remain a mystery.
