Nine Grades Ago

by Kait   Jan 16, 2007

Second Grade:
My first day
So lost and confused
Sitting alone
swinging so slowly
You walked up to me
and told me your name
I told you mine
And you asked to play
Instant friends

Third Grade:
Same class
More plans
So much fun
And another year ends

Fourth Grade:
New faces but the same class
stupid fights
lots of birthday parties
Many changes
But we're still friends

Fifth Grade:
New school
So lost in the rush
We find each other
And, things get better
Another year of the same classes
Oh how the time passes
big fights
so many tears
But, it's gone by the end of the year

Sixth Grade:
Weekend parties
More friends
And some boys too
Major fights
Almost gone
I said you weren't my friend
A week passed
And, I was back at your lunch table again

Seventh Grade:
Secrets shares
Lies told
Drifting away
And no time for play
Things are too serious
But, we are still friends

Eighth Grade:
Things change again
it's all too quick
Not knowing what to say
or even what to do
But, I'm still here for you

Ninth Grade:
Things get better
We grow closer
One dumb fights
But so many fun nights
Memories we share
Tears that fall
I'm glad we did it all

Tenth Grade:
It's just the beginning
Let's see how it goes
Things we missed
Now coming back
More memories to come
More secrets to share
And maybe even some lies to spare
Nothing will change
This friendship so true
Or even my best friend who's you.
