I don't think I want to be God

by Hannah Emellia   Jan 16, 2007

Sometimes I want to be like You,
In control of life,
No hidden anger behind locked doors,
Or at the mercy of a knife.

Sometimes I wonder what I'd do,
What I'd do if I were You,
Would my life be perfect?
Would I give it back to You?

Sometimes I wish I could be You,
So unafraid of death,
Living life to the fullest,
No thoughts of my last breath.

And then- I remember,
Just what you gave to me,
My wonderful life; so imperfect,
And not of what I'll never be.

Next time I'm feeling righteous,
I'll remember I'm a fraud,
And those sinners who all hate me,
I don't think I want to be God.

    Hey!
    This poem is really cool!
    Nice flow
    Very catchy title!
    I loved the last stanza!
Only critique i have is that cut down the amount of Is And Yous
it really makes the poem better
but now,the poem as it is, is great too!
