As i sit here

As I sit here

Watching the flame flicker and die,

My mind starts to wander,

And I just sit back and sigh.

My mind wanders back,

to this same day last year.

This memory is one of the few,

That I still hold dear.

The sky was black,

And the stars were bright.

As we lay on the roof watching the fireworks,

On that beautiful night.

As we laid alone that night,

I swore I loved you.

I thought we’d be together forever.

But what was to come, nobody knew.

You changed for the worse,

And I stayed the same.

You knew how I was,

And you played my love like a game.

But when I think back on you,

This is the memory I prefer to see.

Back before you changed.

Back when you still loved me.
