Darkness of the Red

by Crying My Angry Tears   Jan 18, 2007

And now I quietly watch
The darkness of the red
That seeps from beneath your ribs,
Do you remember how I bled?
How you drove the hand
That guided the knife,
The one that tried
To end my life?
The betrayal that deserved
An eye for an eye,
If you listen real closely,
You can hear me cry
Let's take the cliche literally, shall we? Your eyes are glazing over.
An eye for an eye, they're dancing with red,
You'll glare at me no longer.
Look at me when I speak to you,
Where have your manners gone?
I'm insulted by your everything,
Even your posture's all wrong.
You disgust me, let me show you,
Here, I'll help you up.
Oh dear, there you go again,
I guess you weren't so tough.
Fine, just lie on the floor.
I thought you were a man?
Who would have thought that little old me
Could have fought for all I am?

And now I quietly watch the darkness of the red
That plays around your eyes.
One drop for every one
Of your poisonous, stabbing lies.

Great Job! I like the idea of being insulted by the man's lack of eye contact and posture. Nice touch.
