Teenage Anxiety For Divorce

by Izzie   Jan 18, 2007

They say life should be easy
They even say it should be great
But when your parents get a divorce
How do you put your world back together?
I listened to the fighting
I heard each one scream
I always wondered who was to blame

Was it money?
Or was it me?

I used to sit my room
And rock back and forth
I used to slam the door
Or turn my stereo way up
But nothing drowned them out
I tried to think of happy days

I couldn’t find any
I used to wish for silence
Anything to keep me at peace
Until the day the papers came
The riot became louder
The fights harder

Until one day the house was quiet
No one at home
Now my world is split

Which place do I choose?
Which place do I love more?

I'm going through the same thing right now. Although I'm almost 18 so I won't have to worry about it for long. A least I hope not. But I think he's right choose them both.
