American Soldier

by Tylor Dent   Jan 19, 2007

As I walk across the desert pack on my back gun in hand.
I see all the bodies lying on the cold land.
Fighting for freedom but hated by the enemy.
All though knowing all the Americans need me.

So I continue on with bombs and gun shots going at me.
Surviving all of them barely.
I watch as the men around me fall to the ground.
Im Going to continue on and not let my country down.

Theres thousands of us out here some may live some may die.
But we will never make it unless we try.
In the night cold and lonely all you hears is the guns shooting off all their rounds.
Might be here for months or even years till we finally get homebound.

The tempature is burning as my uniform sticks to my skin.
But it's worth it all cause this war of ours we are going to win.
But until then I'm gona carry my gun on my shoulder.
And continue on like a proud American Soldier.
