Here is something we often find,
A young child with an inquiring mind.
Amazing intelligence with all he knows,
Setting high levels and achieving all goals.
Good morals and values, brought up right,
His parents caring for him each day and night.
Always learned to never give into peers,
Good advice from his parents is what he hears.
Opportunities came, never did he throw one away,
He kept them all, and appreciated each day.
Learned so much in his youthful years,
Guided by parents who never put him in fears.
Role models of such height, yet still of the ordinary,
Even though their personality was quite extraordinary.
Teaching him everything he needs to know,
So hopefully one day he has something to show.
Putting all their savings toward his college degree,
A good future is something his parents did see.
They did more than he could ever dream,
He will have a great life ahead,
Thats the way it will seem.
Now here is something we too often find,
Take a child with an inquiring mind.

But his parents never told him to set any goals.
Morals and values never learned,
Something of which his parents were not concerned.
Only worrying about excessive drinking,
Not ever realizing what the boy would be thinking.
Smart child, you have to say,
But knowledge dwindling every day.
Never appreciated for the talents he had,
If he said something smart,
his parents made him feel bad.
Opportunities in his path was something rare,
And if one came along, he didnt care.
He was sucked into the pressure from peers at school,
And doing drugs, his parents also thought was cool.
Hope that one day he would be someone great,
Is nothing that his parents would anticipate.
His college money, there was nothing of the such,
It was something his parents didnt care for that much.
This is something too often seen,
A child so smart, so bright, so keen,
But brought up by parents who werent as smart,
Dividing him and his greatness too far apart.
