Slurred Words and Liquour

by Sondos   Jan 20, 2007

Scarlet eyes tell lies and passion
Shown in your disgraceful fashion
Of stumbling through your own smudged words
And changing what you think you've heard

I can't believe they fell for you
For not a word you say is true

And as the plots are growing thicker
Your lying tongue is moving quicker
Editing the truth again
To let your voice replace my pen

I can't believe they fell for you
For not a word you say is true

Slurring now and your eyes will flicker
As your veins start pumping liquor
Poison you're too young to drink
But do you care? You never think.

Never think of consequences
Tripping over garden fences
Shouting for the world to hear
That your venom's coming near

I can't believe they fell for you
For not a word you say is true

And all alone you sit and stay
As who you were just fades away
Love is lost, leaves no remains
Except those bottles, and their pain.

Amazing. The rhyme is good and doesn't sound forced. Although one thing...
    The repeating stanza:
"I can't believe they fell for you
For not a word you say is true"
I thonk maybe there should be a more precise way you repeat it? I just seems strange to me reading it with it repeating after one stanza, and then again after two.
    Good job!
