The Young And Innocent Die

by geeeeee   Jan 21, 2007

She tries to hide the bruises
Imprinted on her arms
This story is completely different
To another case of self harm
Daddy storms right through the door
With the essence of drunkenness
She pleads with him to cause no harm
But her plea is completely hopeless
She scurries back wards towards the stairs
But is greeted by a corner
Her daddy did more than beat her to death
He turned her mother into a mourner
On a cold and rainy day in winter
In the cemetery they stood today
They lowered her casket into the ground
All her loved ones were in dismay
She kneeled beside her bed for many years
And quietly prayed to the skies
If there is one thing that I have learnt
It would be that the young & innocent die

Wow.. and based on a true story.
It's so horrific that these things are happening, sometimes right under our noses..
    Such a chilling poem

I am certainly carrying around a lot of tissue today. So very heart-touchingly sad this poem is Bonnie.
And so very sad that it does really happen, every minute, of every day, somewhere.

    Touching write Bonnie
    Take care, deary
