Goodbye

The words in my head
Paint a picture for you to see
Portraying all the pain
That you have ever caused me
My heart keeps beating faster
My sins are fading from my heels
My world is getting brighter
And I can't help
But like the way it feels

When I leave
This world behind
Will you stand there
Never say goodbye
When you said no
To come with me
Your eyes lied
But now I see

My blood drenching
The freshly fallen snow
Stains the innocence
We use to know
Your instincts failed
You've let your guard down
As your screams sound
No one's left to be found

And when I fall
When I trip
I doubt you'll be there
When I slip
The pain I've hidden
Deep inside
It's eating me up
Alive

So long
After all we've been through
We've been there for each other
In everything we do
But a betrayal
I've long forgot
Awoke something
We never sought

I liked this poem, but i felt that the flow was thrown off in a few areas. the rhyme scheme was great, yet this one line stuck out at me,

    "The pain I've hidden
    Deep inside
    It's eating me up
    Alive"

the first time i read through i enjoyed it, but the second time, I found that it seemed a little forced i guess?

    good poem though [:
