She was only 16 and beautiful. She looked like an Angel.
She was the kindest person you would ever meet.
She had goals and dreams. She wanted to fly to the sky.
People always said there she is! That girl there is going to be famous.
She had a voice that sounded like a heavenly chorus.
She always seemed to smile. But underneath that smile was a mile of pain.
Pain she oppressed in front of her peers, you and I.
Her father repressed her and clipped her wings so she could no longer fly.
His drunken rage, he took it out on her. The reason? She was never quite sure.
In the still of the night, her tears fell like rain from the sky.
As he screamed at her in an alcoholics rage. He was the meanest person you would ever meet.
His angelic daughter he did beat. Until she fell in a sobbing heap at his feet.
Nevertheless, every day she rose from the pain with a smile singing her heavenly song.
Even though every night she came home where that smile didnt last for long.
Then the most heavenly day came when the school cast her as Juliet in the spring play.
She was so excited she sang her heart out all the way home. She walked in with a smile.
In a drunken rage her father asked why. She smiled awhile longer. To keep her stronger.
She told him she was Juliet in the play. He laughed in her face. He was on her case.
Still she smiled. He screamed to wipe that smile off her face. It wasnt her place.
Still she refused. He took a swing and struck right across her face. She fell to the ground.
Her head making a loud cracking sound. She lay there in a lifeless mound.
As her friends looked to the sky, her father felt like he wanted to die.
Just as the wind began to blow, they lowered her casket into the snow.
Everyone swore they can still hear her heavenly voice in the wind.
Shes now high in the sky. Part of that heavenly chorus. at least now she can fly high into the sky.
