A flame in my heart

I my heart there beats a flame
it is very passionate, i cannot tame

it burns for my country and her friends
it cannot be smothered or consumed, it never ends

i know my duty, it is never hard to do so
will this feeling ever go away, i will never know

we areamidst a sea of blood and war
i have fought countless battles, my body is covered in sores

in the end someone gets caught in the cross fire
if i said i were used to losing friends and lovers, i'd be a liar

i walk the line to take center stage
this is my story and i write each page

i load my gun, "one last time"
will i make it through this one, that would be sublime

there's no turning back, never
the damsel in distress is waiting for what seems forever

here i come, oh how the musicians have sang
i stand infront of my enemy, which one had the first bang?
