The secret

by forgetting   Jan 23, 2007

My friend told me a secret
One that I will never forget
It was time she got raped
By some unknown boy

I listened as she explained with good detail
I just kept on thinking that he should be in jail
She said he was on drugs and was high
Each time you spoke I wanted him to die

I couldn't imagine my friend in such pain
She said he just thought of it as a cruel game
She said tears kept falling from her eyes
I wandered if he cared about her cries

She said she was shocked and unable to move
I put my arm around her and tried to sooth
She shoved me off instantly
And she said "That's what he did to me"

I looked at her my eyes on the verge of tears
Why had she waited all these years?
If only she had told me back then
And I would have hurt him

I can't believe he did that to such an innocent girl
She said "he ripped my clothes off in a swirl"
I wished she never had to suffer
All I wanted is for her to get tougher

I remember her every time we talk about being a virgin
And how she could never join in
Because some bastard that was high
Raped her and wished he would die
