My Heart and My Blood

by Tripp   Jan 23, 2007

Examine my heart, bear it in your hands
stare into my eyes, the depths of my blue bands
Hold me in yours and let us stay frozen in time
and promise me that you'll always be mine

Clasp our hands together and walk on forever
the memories of you and me will leave my mind never
you and me face to face eye to eye and lips to lips
your hands around my neck, both of mine on your hips

Words can't express the feelings I feel for you
words can't express how much my love is true
You're my lighthouse, on my dangerous foggy nights
when I'm ready for death you keep life in my sights

If I could hold you in my arms from now until forever
you know I would, because the two of us go so perfect together
Our hands are clasped together and we walk side by side
Maybe it'll be the same in twenty years, except you'll be my bride

You never know how strong love may really be
only over time and through hardship, may you really see
love is like steel, it will bend but never break
my heart's been impaled with a stainless steel stake

And it's bleeding, bleeding blood with her name
this girl fills, every single thought in my brain
whether we're together or whether we're apart
it's like we're both connected, sharing the same heart

To describe this bond we share there isn't enough space
I was born for her to fall into my arms, born for this embrace
I was born to tell this girl my true feelings for her
I was born for this girl to be mine, replaced by no other
