The Farmer's Proposal

by Linda Harris   Jan 23, 2007

As I stood against the fence post
And stroked the mare
As she fed on rolled oats
I heard someone walking behind me
And I turned around to see

The farmer who I've been seeing
For a long period of time
Kneeled down and looked me in the eyes
"Will you marry me?"

My heart was fluttered with excitement
And I respond, "Yes, I'll marry you"
We were married the next day
In the pen of his Holtstein cows
And we lived happily ever after
