Close by the door..we stood

Close by the cars we all paused to stand
As she slowly took his class ring off of her hand.
All of us who were watching didnt dare to speak.
As a silent tear ran down her cheek.
And all through her mind those memories ran.
From prom moments, to the nervous first date walking in the sand hand in hand.
His eyes were now so terribly cold.
Never again would she have him to hold.
We all watched her in silence as she bent near
And heard her whisper I love you in his ear.
She slowly touched his face and began to cry.
She put his class ring on his finger and felt like she wanted to die.
Just then just as the wind began to blow.
They slowly lowered his casket into the snow.

This tragedy happens to many of us alive
When we let our friends drink & drive!!!
