Playing the Match

by Avrii Monrielle   Jan 24, 2007

You talk about rejection
Like it's rather hard to do
You'd rather play their affections
Than to tell them the truth

You play it like a game
They take a chance, roll the dice
If they want to say your name,
They will have to pay the price

'Cause you can't reject them
For affections
The minute you do that
It becomes a reflection

Of the past you try to hide away
Looking back to yesterday
Bump ahead, bump back
Your attitude is whack

Hey, you don't have to be a player
But don't say that you find
It's okay to hurt her
Because she doesn't mind

Cause that isn't the truth
Are you wasting her youth
By saying that if she loves you
She should give her heart as proof?

She loves you
She's had a crush on you for as long as me
I'd call it jealousy
But I can't, cause that's not the truth

You see, love can't be jealous
I see this awesome girl who's
Willing to take a bullet for you
For love, she's not a wuss

But you cannot have her
Because there are too many
Suitors out there
From them, you can't choose any

Yeah, they're potential,
They have credential,
I'd call you a jerk,
But that wouldn't work

'Cause theres too many fighting for you
They're a few lights that shine through
A stained glass window... the colors all catch
But are any close to the perfect match?
