All of Me.

by Not Bulletproof   Jan 24, 2007

And I write from the heart,
because it's the prime part
that let's me truly express
how I feel when I undress
from my sugar-coated façade,
that people see each day.

I look hard-hearted and cold inside,
but I usually keep my arms out wide.
Most people see past the warmth,
and look straight at the thunderstorm.
I may seem to be cruel and unkind,
but that's only what they see the first time,
if they even tried, the truth they'd find.

You seem to have accepted,
that I have been rejected
and been carelessly forgot,
and you seem to care a lot.
You tolerate the insults
that I get from my faults.
You understand I'm hated,
and don't care that I'm jaded.
You enjoy the raging winds,
the toss and turns and spins,
including the center; the eye
of the hurricane that is I.

Some people run away when they see
what lies beneath; the truth that is me,
but you have made me come to realize,
that not all people wear the same eyes.
You are different; you look and you care,
you don't look at what's just simply there,
but mostly, at what there could be;
you like to find out about all of me.

So I write to you from heart,
because it's the truest part.
It alone can truly express
how I don't need to impress
anyone or anything anymore,
because you truly do adore
all of me.
