Sitting in the car
keys in the ignition
no where to go
gaze above
a tear rolls down.
"star light star bright, first star i see tonight. I wish i may i wish i might, have the wish i wish tonight"
give me a reason
to start this car
give me hope
i know it's not far
take me away
make me better
help me sleep
wake me up in my time of need
take me away
don't leave me alone
no where to go.
clutch the wheel
another tear
don't let go
i hope the star i picked was right
still gazing, it flickers
confused completion.
that was only a reflection
some far away porch light
my wasted wish
slaps me in the face
how much more of this can i take
i myself am just a pathetic mistake.
